Sam Clark is a UK-based architect and academic with a passion for people-centred design and working between the boundaries of industry and academia. He is a Senior Lecturer at the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University, where he has been engaged in design studio teaching since 2008. Sam currently leads an MArch design unit, Dwelling Differently, which focuses on the design of places where people live or reside – be it by choice, chance or otherwise – and encourages students to critically explore and re-imagine environments for dwelling well. He has research expertise within the field of design for wellbeing, specifically housing for older people, and is currently supervising doctoral students engaged in practice-led studies exploring the design of residential/care institutions as well as inclusive design within public realm/building interiors.
